Three Students of LEAD Scholars Batch of 2012 succeed in IIT-JEE 2012

By the grace of Almighty Allah, LEAD Trust, Bangalore is happy to announce that 3 students out of 11 of its LEAD Scholars Batch of 2012 have been successful in IIT-JEE 2012, the results of which have been announced on May 18th 2012. Their details are given below

In 2010, LEAD got inspired by Rahmani-30 of Bihar to create a unique opportunity for IIT-JEE preparation programme for students in Karnataka and Kerala. A group of 11 students were selected in the LEAD Scholars Batch of 2012. For two years, these students did their PUC at Al-Ameen PU College, Bangalore and underwent rigorous and customized training by renowned coaching institute - TIME – targeted towards IIT-JEE 2012.

LEAD trust expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the management and faculty of Al-Ameen PU College and TIME for their support and efforts over the last two years. LEAD Trust is also grateful to its local co-ordinators across the country and abroad, who help conduct LTSE to identify brilliant students, and thanks its partner colleges and donors for nourishing a fledgling idea.

Admissions still open for brilliant students for LEAD Scholars Batch of 2014
LEAD trust invites brilliant students, who have just completed 10th Std this year, and who have scored A+ / 95%+ in Science and Mathematics, and who are keen to prepare for IIT-JEE 2014 to immediately contact LEAD trust to schedule a test and interview. Successful students shall enroll onto the LEAD Scholars Batch of 2014. Classes commence on 2nd June 2012 at Al-Falah PU College, Magadi. There are only a few seats left. About LEAD Trust
Learner’s Excellence and Academic Development (LEAD) trust was formed in October 2009 with a vision “To ensure that every individual is able to harness his or her innate potential to the fullest through better education and career opportunities.” It aims to promote excellence in education and leadership among Indian youth through identifying and supporting good students who, due to low awareness of good educational opportunities, coupled with poor economic conditions, are unable to pursue their dream careers. LEAD Trust conducts its flagship LEAD Talent Search Examination (LTSE)every year to identify bright students as an initiative specifically to create a platform for students to get admissions into top colleges such as IITs, IISc, IISERs, top medical and law colleges across India and foreign universities. LTSE (2012) was held to select students for Engineering, Medicine and Law fields across more than 55 cities in 6 Indian states and in UAE. LEAD has also worked for the Directorate of Minorities, Government of Karnataka facilitating the selection for the UPSC/ KPSC pre-examination coaching scheme in 2010 and 2011. LEAD Trust provides need based scholarships to partially meet LEAD scholars expenses relating to college fees, training, coaching, guidance, books, study materials, etc. for 2 years during PUC. Students/ Parents will have to bear the cost of boarding and lodging. However, economically deserving students also seek support for boarding and lodging.

LEAD Trust runs completely on donations by kind people of the community. LEAD Trust has obtained approval u/s 80G from the Income Tax Department. We appeal to all of you to contribute your charity (Zakat, Sadaqa) generously to help promote educational excellence in the community.

About Indian Institutes of Technology
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) are a group of sixteen autonomous engineering and technology-oriented institutes of higher education established and declared as Institutes of National Importance. The IITs are recognized throughout the world as institutes of excellence. The Times Higher Education Supplement (2008) ranked 5 IITs in the top 100 globally for technology in their World University Rankings. The starting salaries of graduates from IITs are typically above Rs 6 lakhs per annum,. Admission to undergraduate B. Tech and integrated M. Tech programmes of IIT are through IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) in which around 5,60,000 students appeared in 2012 of which less than 10,000 get selected (<2%).

About Indian Science and Engineering Eligibility Test
In order to do away with multiple entrance examinations and reduce stress levels of students, Min. of Human Resource Development, Government of India is planning a new, SAT-style exam to come into force in 2013. This entrance exam will replace the JEE and AIEEE, and if states opt for it, it will even replace state level entrance exams such as CET in Karnataka. It is proposed to be called ISEET, the Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test and will be conducted by CBSE. LEAD Scholars Batch of 2014 shall be trained and will prepare for ISEET.
